Prepare for Your Holidays: The Alps

Prepare for Your Holidays: The Alps

Travel | Europe | 11/09/16

Have you got a sudden urge to escape your boring everyday life and go on an adventure? Want to climb to one of the highest peaks in Europe? Then take a journey to the Alps!

What to do in the Alps?

If you're looking for a holiday in the snow, the Alps are a good choice. There's no shortage of ski resorts here, and the many Alpine villages located around the Alps are perfect for those looking to experience Alpine culture. The best known ski resorts in the Alps include Tignes, and Val d'Isere, a resort which was used during the 1992 Winter Olympics.

In the Tarentaise Valley lies Courchevel, another well known Alpine ski resort with an altitude of 2738 meters. This resort is very popular with international tourists, and has become a very well known resort throughout the Alps. Another resort worth mentioning is Meribel, with its very large skiing area, and its vast amount of slopes for beginners. Another popular resort is Chamonix, located on the Aiguille du Midi mountain slopes. The attraction "A step into the void" is a must see. A room made entirely out of glass which overhangs on the mountain's edge. A must see for any thrill seekers who want to feel as if they're hanging 3842 meters above the ground!

Each of these resorts offer a wide range of snow based activities. Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating… you can venture through the Alps in whichever way you want. If you want to take some time to relax, there's no shortage of spas and baths lying around the various resorts!
