What to do in Prague in 3 days

What to do in Prague in 3 days

Travel | Europe | 09/13/17

Prague is a beautiful city, with a rich history as well as being the most well-preserved from the Second World War. With so much culture, lots of expanisve parks, a vibrant night life and history, it is a city that can’t not be adored by all those who visit.

Day 1 in Prague:

There is so much to see in Prague, so what better way to start off your trip that with a bit of sightseeing of some of the main tourist attractions. Start off by going to Old Town Square where you can enjoy delicious food from street stalls and live musicians playing throughout the day. Also, be sure to be by the Astronomical Clock on the hour to watch it strike with its renowned chime! You can then take one of the fantastic free walking tours of parts of the city, so see some amazing places with one of the knowledgeable tour guides who know so much! You can then go over Charles Bridge, Prague’s most iconic bridge, which crosses over the Vltava River. Construction of it begun in 1357 and it connects the Old Town and the Lesser Town. Once over, you will find yourself in the Castle District. Amongst this is Prague Castle and the notable St Vitus Cathedral- you will notice its unique baroque architecture, and it looks especially amazing in the evenings when it lights the sky. After a long day of sightseeing, you can find yourself a cosy traditional restaurant to have some dinner.

Day 2 in Prague:

To start your second day, head over to Josefov, the Jewish Quarter, which is one of the best insights into Jewish history in Europe. There is so much to see and experience, such as the Jewish Cemetery, the Old New Synagogue and the Jewish Museum. Then take yourself over to Kampa, a neighborhood by the river, and visit the John Lennon Wall. Towards the end of Communism in the 1980s, students started writing John Lennon lyrics on this wall as a way to grieve his death. Today, the wall represents love and peace, and attracts a huge number of tourists who are allowed to write or paint on it too. Czech Republic is renowned for its world famous beer, so finish off your day with a cruise along the Vltava drinking some tradition Prague beer.

Day 3 in Prague:

Begin your final morning wandering round Petrin Park- the city’s largest and most beautiful park, and see the Petrin Tower which is like a mini version of the Eiffel Tower. From up here you can get a beautiful view over the city from above (and you can walk or get funicular up and down the hill if don’t fancy it!) Bring a picnic and enjoy this beautiful and tranquil place if the weather's good, and then top off your day with some shopping in Wenceslas Square, where you will find all the big international brands such as Zara, H&M and Nike. There are so many cafés and restaurants around so stop somewhere for some dinner or a drink before heading home.
